I just can’t shut up about this show, can I?
I give up. This episode is just weird.
So it’s been quite a few months now since I’ve reviewed a Doctor Who episode, and I decide I might attempt to get back in the swing of things by doing my first review of a Classic Series story.
Plot and story/storytelling are two separate things. This is a concept that I don’t see many people think about, and even making the distinction between the two isn’t something that many take the time to do.
Yet, I feel it’s important, when analyzing your feelings toward a work to not conflate the two things. With that in mind, how exactly are they different, and how exactly do they relate?
In this episode, The Doctor visits America. He also gets shot to death. Coincidence? I think not.
Another regeneration to confuse my non-whovian followers already, huh? And it just had to be my favorite this time. This one hasn’t even been viewable for 24 hours and already it’s got one side hailing it as a masterpiece and the other comparing it to several different forms of feces.
Which camp do I fall into? I wish I knew.
